A lot of people start their job search at the end of the process — working
on a resume and looking at job listings. That's too late in the game. As a
result, too many people:

• Get stuck getting started
• Aren't sure how to pick a direction
• Have trouble attracting contacts who can help
• Miss out on hard-to-find opportunities
• Don't get past the resume screen
• Find it difficult to make the case for why they're the right hire
• Are not getting offers for the jobs they want
• End up taking a job for the wrong reasons (sometimes unknown reasons)
• Find themselves in a path that doesn't feel quite right
• Wake up at 30 and say, “I guess this is what I do”
