A lot of people start their job search at the end of the process — working
on a resume and looking at job listings. That's too late in the game. As a
result, too many people:
- Get stuck getting started
- Aren't sure how to pick a direction
- Have trouble attracting contacts who can help
- Miss out on hard-to-find opportunities
- Don't get past the resume screen
- Find it difficult to make the case for why they're the right hire
- Are not getting offers for the jobs they want
- End up taking a job for the wrong reasons (sometimes unknown reasons)
- Find themselves in a path that doesn't feel quite right
- Wake up at 30 and say, “I guess this is what I do”
